Trying times aren't they?  It would seem that the majority of our politicians have as their goal the taking of our country from it's capitalist roots and principles to ever increasing government encroachment into both our personal lives and our businesses.  These attempts range from the nationalizing of businesses (i.e. banks and automakers) to oppressive taxation that threatens our sustainability, expansion, and effective cost analysis.

If there exists any bright spot in all  this, it is that the American people seem to have awakened and are intent on taking our country back.  If you haven't joined one of these grassroots movements, do so.  Do so now!  As it stands, the only way we can regain the lost ground is to work from the bottom up.  Top down sure hasn't availed!

Indulge me to make two suggestions.  One is personal.  The other business.

1.  Personally, we must trust someone greater than ourselves.  Proverbs 1:7 states a very important fact.  "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge."  We've gotten ourselves into this mess through our sin.  This is God's judgement on our nation.  Pride and greed will not go unpunished.  We are reaping what we have sown.  There is no fear of God in the land.  Remedy?  Repentance and forgiveness - one at a time - found only in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Find me at one of the winter shows or call me and we'll talk about it.

2.  Secondly, as business people we must be

          capable

          durable

          versatile.

We must hone our skills both in production and management.  This will enable us to be tough and durable.

Also, we must be versatile.  I don't know what that looks like in your business, but in mine there are some additions and subtractions in the product line.  This reflects the increase of the reforestation business.

We've even done some tree planting in the reforestation projects.  So don't allow a lack of expertise or labor discourage you.  We can help.

Due to liner sales being down, we've also added some B&B material.  These plants can fit into any situation - residential, commercial, or reforestation.

My motto has for a long time been, "You have to do what you have to do."
